EXPERIENCED CARPENTER | $30 to $40/HR + PERFORMANCE BONUSES | LEAD PROJECTS. BUILD QUALITY. GROW YOUR CAREER.
Are you the kind of carpenter who takes ownership instead of waiting for instructions?
Do you want to work on projects you're proud to put your name on, lead a crew that respects quality, and be part of a company that's building something bigger than another house?
Rugged Ridge Contracting is looking for an experienced carpenter who wants more than just another job. We're after someone who can run projects, solve problems, lead by example, and consistently deliver workmanship that stands out.
About Rugged Ridge Contracting
We build and renovate homes with craftsmanship, professionalism, and attention to detail at the center of everything we do.
Our team believes in doing the job right the first time. We look after our clients, support each other on site, and take pride in producing work that lasts.
We're growing, and we're looking for another high performer who wants to grow with us.
The Role: Experienced Carpenter
You'll take ownership of residential projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
Your work will include framing, finish carpentry, decks and patios, patio covers, awning installations and repairs, siding, flooring, tile installation, cabinetry, structural repairs, ice dam prevention systems, snow plowing, and a variety of custom renovation work.
You'll also:
Lead smaller projects from start to finish.
Coordinate subcontractors and keep work moving.
Mentor apprentices and help raise the standard of the crew.
Meet with clients on site and communicate professionally.
Order materials and stay ahead of project requirements.
Complete daily site reports.
Use project management software to keep projects organized and on schedule.
Success in this role means projects stay on track, clients are impressed with the finished product, and your team knows they can rely on you.
Who We're Looking For
You've spent at least five years developing your trade and have the confidence to work independently while knowing when to ask the right questions.
You've worked across renovations and custom residential projects and enjoy tackling work that keeps every week different.
You communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors, office staff, and the rest of the team.
You write clearly, solve problems without drama, and understand that your attitude is just as important as your skill.
You lead naturally, enjoy helping apprentices improve, and still believe there's always something new to learn.
You take safety seriously, respect the people you work with, and represent the company professionally every day.
There's no place here for shortcuts, poor attitudes, unreliable behavior, substance use on site, or language that doesn't belong in front of clients.
If you've got first aid training or estimating experience, that's a bonus.
What's In It For You
You'll earn $30 to $40 per hour, depending on experience, with performance bonuses that reward great work, and potential to take a company vehicle home.
You'll enjoy year-round work on interesting custom residential projects that challenge your skills and keep your work varied.
You'll be surrounded by a team that works hard, supports each other, and takes pride in quality craftsmanship.
Most importantly, this isn't a dead-end position. As the company grows, you'll have genuine opportunities to step into larger leadership responsibilities.
Is This You?
You don't wait to be told what to do.
You care about the finished product as much as the client does. You leave every site better than you found it.
You want to be part of a company where your work matters, your opinion is valued, and your career can keep moving forward.
If that's you, we'd like to hear from you.
