This four speed automatic overdrive transmission came out of a 1996 Crown Victoria with 92,000 miles on it. I have inspected it and everything looks in good working order. The bell housing is for a modular engine (three bolt starter) but the internals can be used in any AOD,AOD/E, 4R70W or 4R75W case and valve body with a Windsor two bolt starter pattern (289, 302, 351). If you are wanting a modern four speed overdrive for you vintage Ford these are great choices. The 4R70W has the more desirable wide ratio gears and much stronger internals then the earlier AOD's. You can go manual or electronic shift control depending on what case/valve body you choose to use. I also have two torque converters that go with this transmission; the original one and one out of a 1997 F150.
