The Building Cleaner job involves keeping buildings clean, safe, and orderly by performing tasks like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors; cleaning/sanitizing restrooms and kitchens; emptying trash; dusting surfaces; washing windows( and coordination of exterior window cleaning); stocking supplies; reporting maintenance issues; performing minor repairs; maintaining equipment and ensuring compliance with health & safety standards for employees, clients, and visitors.
The position performs daily morning cleaning of the Kalispell and Whitefish Stores driving the company transfer truck between locations. This position follows a predetermined cleaning schedule and performs other related work as assigned.
6 days a week, 6am-10am (approximately 24 hours/ week)
Key Responsibilities:
• General Cleaning: Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, dusting furniture & fixtures, washing walls & windows, cleaning mirrors.
• Restroom Maintenance: Cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing and restocking soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
• Waste Management: Collecting, emptying, and disposing of trash and recycling.
• Sanitization: Disinfecting high-touch surfaces like doorknobs, desks, and phones.
• Minor Repairs & Maintenance: Routinely checks for and performs as needed -including changing light bulbs, replacing filters, minor maintenance repairs.
• Coordinating and Scheduling Routine Third-Party Vendor Maintenance: e.g. periodic exterior window cleaning.
• **Supply management**: Monitoring, ordering, and organizing cleaning supplies.
• ** Safety& Security**: Wiping up spills, removing snow/debris in coordination with store staff.
Essential Skills & Requirements:
• Demonstrates attention to detail.
• Demonstrates ability to work independently and take initiative to address cleaning and safety concerns.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment and appropriate and respectful usage.
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills to maintain orderly and clean supply storage.
• Displays a strong work ethic, responsibility, punctuality, and reliability.
• Preference for manual activities and physical stamina for lifting, bending, and standing.
• Demonstrates Communication skills to follow direction, report issues and maintain a positive work environment.
• Demonstrates ability to follow all safety protocols and demonstrates safe working methods.
• Must have a valid driver license with a clean driving record - minimum age 21.
• Adherence to all company policies and loss prevention control and compliance procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous custodial experience.
• Demonstrates some general knowledge of plumbing or lighting equipment.
• Prior experience with minor repairs including painting or minor carpentry
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to perform extensive standing, walking, lifting and carrying heavy weighted materials up to 50 lbs. Requires the ability to bend, twist and reach repeatedly throughout shift.
