Kitten is a 4yo A2A2 Jersey Cow that freshened end of May. Emma, her polled heifer calf, is with her full time. Kitten is a LOVELY, super sweet mid size milk cow. She is fully disease tested and has never had mastitis. She did sustain a teat injury when she was two, but it hasn’t caused any issues and still milks/closes just fine. She is stancion trained, and will let any and all babies nurse off of her. Shes a diamond in the rough and such a gem to own. Would be the most perfect homestead milk cow.
We are only selling because we are limited to milking 5 at a time in Montana for raw sales. She freshened lower at 5 gallons peak than my others, so I am making the difficult decision to let her go. I do milk her once a day, and get anywhere from 1-3 gallons from her- depending on who else she lets nurse that day.
I just pulled samples today for current components metrics. We CMT paddle test daily and she has never had a positive. Her previous SCC was 38,000. I am more than happy to pull any additional testing purchaser may require. Kitten was bred back 07/15 to the same bull that sired Emma. Too soon to confirm pregnancy, but she has never had issues with breeding.
Emma, is her Polled heifer calf. She is A2A2 and sired by my registered Jersey Bull. Shes been dam raised, so not extremely tame, but she wouldn’t be hard to tame down.
