This was supposed to be my forever vehicle, so I invested in a lot of preventative maintenance. Recent maintenance and upgrades include:
- New downpipe
- New u-joints in front and rear driveshafts
- Toyota factory winch completely rebuilt with Toyota parts
- AC refresh: new condenser, dryer, evaporator and recharge system with R134a
- New gear oil in differentials (AMS oil full synthetic)
- New rear hatch struts
- Transmission fluid flushed
- Upgraded front and rear brakes (rotors, calipers, pads, soft lines) to larger 1997 Land Cruiser rotors and pads
- New wheel bearings
- New sway bar bushings
- Old Man Emu Nitrocharger sport shocks
- Snorkel
- New timing belt using all Toyota parts
- Injection pump and injectors rebuilt
- Upgraded fuel pin (to allow for tuning)
- Custom intercooler
- Auber pyrometer
- New turbocharger
- Manual boost controller and boost gauge
- Custom racks in cargo area
Regular oil and fuel filter changes were performed using Toyota filters and Rotella T 15W-40. Oil analysis from Blackstone returned positive results and shows no sign of engine wear. The cruiser starts well even in extreme cold. Engine idles smoothly and produces excellent power. Regular alignments and 5-tire rotations have kept tire wear even on the BFG K02 tires.
The bad
- Driver’s seat cushion is a little worn. No rips or tears, but the fabric is looking tired
- Rust on some underbody components
- Nicks and scratches in keeping with a 30 year old vehicle
- Small dent on the hood
- Rust on aftermarket hitch receiver
- Wear on interior touch points
- Crack in fender flare
- Rear fender flare needs mounting hardware
Note: the odometer is in KM. 348,000 KM is equivalent to roughly 216k miles.
