McCauley Met-L-Prop 7148 - meaning 71” length/diameter, 48” travel per revolution. This prop was repitched and restamped by the prop shop as modified. Applicable as standard to Cessna 120 & 140 with C-85 (85 Hp Continental) according to the chart in Aircraft Spruce catalog. Perhaps others. My application is a C-85 on a 7AC Champ, which requires a lower pitch. Ideally, I’d like to find such a prop for my Airknocker and make a straight trade. This one, of course, is a metal prop, but I’d take either a wood or metal prop in trade if I can find a good climb configuration. The Champ TC specifies length limits as min=70” and max=72”. I think a 40 to 43” pitch might be about right for climb in this thin Montana air. Maybe a 70CK42 or thereabouts.
Initially, email only please. Serious enquirers can get my phone number.
Condition is good. There aren’t any nicks or dents. There are some areas that look like light scratches have been buffed out, but no indentations. It’s been sitting in a hanger for many years, so the surface is dull and so is the paint. I haven’t made any attempt to beautify it. Honestly I haven’t even washed it. I don’t know if I’ve flown it, but I would have no hesitation. I’m an A&P (For whatever it’s worth), but I’m not signing anything.
If you want to buy it, we can dicker. If you have 7AC/11AC parts, I’d be interested.
