First Call is currently using a 3rd party bookkeeping service and building a team to bring accounting in house to meet our future needs and demands.

Position Roles and Responsibilities

  • Payroll
    • Facilitate employee onboarding for payroll, benefits and new hire reporting, in accordance with company policies and State law.
    • Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee payroll and benefits records.
    • Timely and accurate payroll processing including calculation of wages, bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, garnishments, deductions, advances, leave, State/Federal taxes, Unemployment, Workers Compensation.
    • Administer employee benefits, liaising with benefit providers.
      • Health Insurance
      • 401k
    • Ensure compliance with tax and labor laws.
    • Address and resolve any payroll and benefits discrepancies or queries.
    • Timely and accurate preparation and filing of quarterly and annual payroll tax returns, including W-2s.
    • Monitoring of paid leaves (sick and PTO) and liason with department managers.
  • Accounts Payable
    • Ensure compliant vendor records, including W-9 information.
    • Receive, verify, and process bills and payment requests.
    • Update Purchase Order records when applicable bills are received.
    • Schedule and prepare vendor payments, managing cash flow to optimize timing.
    • Reconcile payable reports and vendor statements.
    • Resolve billing discrepancies and issues with vendors.
    • Maintain accurate and organized vendor records and files.
    • Facilitate issuing of 1099s and related electronic filing annually.
    • Enter credit card transactions and reconcile to statements monthly, utilizing employee expense reports.
    • Reconcile bank statements weekly and enter any missing transactions into the accounting software.

Resource Profile

  • Required
    • Accounting Degree
    • 3-4 years of relevant experience. 
    • Comprehensive knowledge of payroll and benefits processing.
    • Proficiency in payroll software and systems.
    • Deep understanding of accounts payable procedures.
    • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Proficiency in Quickbooks and Excel.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Preferred
    • Experience performing accounts receivable work.
